We had a great week in Coniston, it’s a great base for walking. Puddleduck cottage is lovely it’s a great size for a family or group of adults, we were the latter plus a dog. It was spotlessly clean. The welcome lemon drizzle cake, fudge & wine are a lovely touch & there was a pint of milk for that cuppa after a long journey. We didn’t use the garden as it wasn’t the right time of year, it’s not very big but it does have lovely views. It’s a very short walk to the village centre where you can get all your essentials. The pubs were all good but the men especially liked the Black Bull which has its own micro brewery & the food was good. Steam restaurant is a must if you like really good food, you take your own alcohol which keeps the cost down, definitely need to book though it’s always full. We would highly recommend this property & Chloe, the owner, who was quick to respond to all correspondence.
